When your cat (or cats) needs to be taken care of while you are away he or she can stay at Kattenhotel Lorenzo. If you would like to have a look first to see where your cat will be looked after you can come by during our visiting hours.
All cats get their own sleeping space with a sleeping basket, a litter box, bowls for water and for (dry) food. If you like you can bring an (old) towel or plaid to put in the sleeping basket, so the new place is a bit more like home for your cat. When you have two, or more cats, we make sure they stay together in a double sized space or triple and so on.As soon as your cat is feeling at ease in the new environment we let him or her walk around with the other cats during the day.So the cat's stay with us will be as pleasant as possible.
Before your cat (-s) can stay with us we will be checking a few points. These are e.g.:
Do you have a female or a male cat? If you have a male cat and he is older than ± 9 months (or if his urine begins to smell strongly or if he begins to mark his territory) then he has to be castrated / neutered before he can stay at Kattenhotel Lorenzo. If you have a female cat and she has not been sterilized / spaded she can, if necessary, be given the contraceptive pill for cats.
Is your cat vaccinated? This is the vaccination against Panleucopenia and Feline Upper Respiratory Disease (in Dutch: Kattenziekte and Niesziekte). Ask your veterinarian, he or she will know. The vaccinations may not be older than one year during the cat's stay and must be given at least three weeks in advance. (e.g. when your cat comes to visit on the first of August the vaccinations must have been given by your veterinarian before the tenth of July.) If your cat is younger than three years of age, (starting from ± the 9th - 12th week) we recommend a vaccination not older than six months. The vaccination papers you will get from your veterinarian must be brought along with your cat during its stay, and will be returned to you when you pick up your cat.
We have a limited quarantine room were cats can stay if the vaccinations are given within the three weeks prior to the moment the cat would come and stay with us. Call us for more information.
What does your cat eat at home? Your cat will be fed the same type of food as he or she would get at home. The most common brands of cat food like Whiskas, Kite Kat, Gourmet, Felix, Royal Canin and Hills' is what we give and is included in the price. If your cat has a special diet from your veterinarian for example against stone bladder you must bring this also.
For a stay during the summer holiday period or over Christmas we recommend you make reservations well in advance to be sure we can board your cat!
If you're not planning to go on holiday but need to rebuild your home your cat can stay with us. Your cat doesn't have to experience all the excitement and you can keep your attention on matters at hand.
